I've been painting up some of the Eureka Wars of the French Revolution figures lately. As always they are a joy to paint. This round I've painted up a unit of Hungarian Infantry. Enough said, on to the pictures.....

I have only two small complaints about the figures -

1. The thigh knots do not stand out very well as compared to other manufacturers.

2. The buttons stand out too much! They look like small nipples on the figures which makes them hard to paint to look like a button.

I'm going to be painting some SYW figures for a friend of mine and after that I plan on working on some 1806 Prussians by Elite Miniatures. Thanks for stopping by.

  1. A beautiful looking unit! If only you didn't have to take out a second mortgage to buy the figures.

  2. Excellent paint jobs as usual - I especially like the last three pictures featuring the mounted commander in blue hungarian pants / the hungarian flag with its "maypole" staff (Flag Dude flag? How did you get the flags staff those colors?) Gives me inspiration to paint those Austrian line figures sitting on my table you gave me.
    Happy Thanksgiving

  3. PS I especially admire the color of your bases very authentic and well displayed

  4. I like those a lot. I think Eureka are a much underrated manufacturer.

  5. Ray, yes they are expensive that's for sure but if you plan ahead by selling off the kids then you might have enough money to buy a bunch of figures. ;-)

The flag pole I handpainted myself. I don't think Rick would do that for you or if he did he'd charge A LOT more for his flags.

I agree, I think Eureka is underrated and wish they could out with more lines. The figures do paint up nicely and they're well worth the time and money.

  6. Very nice as always mate, agree with Ray about the price, I have a Rgt of Austrian cavalry, but I have to be very choosy about what I buy from them simply because of how much they cost.
By the way, how much did you get for the kids, what's the going rate?

  7. Great looking figs! You guys should run a Nap Rev or 1806 game at Nashcon in the Spring! What is Bill painting right now? Cory

    1. Cory,

Bill is working on 1/72nd plastics for SYW. He's mounting them up for "Might and Reason". So I'm alone in this venture.

  8. The strippey flag poles are a triumph! Well done!
I also really like the super chunky bases, that's quite a brave move. Happy New Year,
