Saxon Cav....again

I had showed some pics of the 1806 Saxon cav I painted up earlier but they didn't have the flags attached. Well now I have the flags and I've been able to also put a couple of coats of clear lacquer on them. So on to the pics with the flags.....
That's all for now. I'm back to painting those SYW figures for my friend. Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Very pretty brushwork there! Kind of makes me want to add some Saxon uniforms to my own fictitious 18th century set-up.

  2. Excellent paint job and this helps me paint some figures of my own that are obviously Saxon or Prussian cavalry of 1806.

  3. Very well painted figures. Congratulations :)
I'm not a fan of the figures produced by Elite Miniatures, but in your performance ones look great.
One moment - you do not think that glossy varnish is not the best choice? I use Matte Finish varnish produced by Krylon http://www.krylon.com/products/matte_finish/ He is invisible on the figure, but it gives excellent protection.

I am sorry if I offended you somehow.

    Cheers,

  4. Vasiliy,

No offensive is taken with your comments as I welcome all comments. The reason I've selected to use the glossy varnish is that I like the look of them plus it allows more color to show. The colors seem to 'pop out' better then when a matte is used. But I am thinking of putting a layer of matte on just my Napoleonics. I've just not decided yet. Thank you very much for the feedback.
